Lot 37 Vintage Wood Roller Organ Cob Rolls 1880s Player Antique Classic FUN

For sale is an amazing lot of 37 wood cob player music rolls from the late 1800s. Some of the endcap title labels are missing and some are only partially legible, but I see song titles like: Home Sweet Home, The Sweet Bye and Bye, Rock of Ages, Nearer My God to Thee, Dixie No. 205, Where is My Boy Tonight? 23, Sunny Tennessee, and Hark, the Herald Angels Sing. ” These 6.5″ long cob rolls are quite well-built and the pins look to be in good, solid condition, but I have no way of testing these and so cannot guarantee the quality of sound. I want both us to come out winners here. All of these items are from a smoke-free home. This listing offers the opportunity for both collectors of vintage music boxes and individuals who love both music and antiques to own a vintage Stella 17 1/2 double comb disc player and matching disc storage cabinet with 38 discs. It was serviced in February of 2016 by a reputable vintage music technician. The mechanism was cleaned and oiled, a damaged lower comb was replaced the a new one that had been imported from Europe but never installed in the box, the combs were tuned to each other as well as to the original default specs, and the soundboard, which had a small crack in it, was properly repaired. The original crank handle with black wood knob shows nice patina wear from usage over the many years. Antique REGINA POLYPHON MUSIC BOX 15.5 Disc Player SINGLE COMB #64884 c. Being offered for sale is the REGINA POLYPHON MUSIC BOX. Single short comb (damaged, see notes below & 3rd picture), 15.5 disc player, serial number 64884, unknown model type/number. From circa the early 20th century. Post-1898 as per serial number and. 1918 as per popularity decline after Edison’s phonograph was invented. As seen in the pictures/as described in the title. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES. Being offered for sale AS-FOUND, uncleaned. May require a thorough detailing and/or professional servicing to bring to its full potential. Comb has (18) broken teeth. Moderate -to- severe scuffs, scratches, dings, dents, etc. Box/case remains structurally rigid & strong but many corner joints have damage/are slightly separated. Looks like it was removed from a stand/base and/or is missing molding around bottom. Left, right & rear sides have been painted black. Crank handle is damaged at connection point and does not grip tight enough to crank the motor. Using vise-grips, we were able to crank the motor and it does work but seems to run a bit slower than it should. It may need a thorough cleaning/greasing/servicing to bring to full working order. Original lock looks to be working but NO key included and has NOT been tested. Out of the (15) discs included, just 1 or 2 look like they might be in fair enough condition to work but the rest are badly worn with missing metal around edges and are heavily rusted. All-in-all, a good example for restoration. Measures 21-1/2″ wide x 19″ deep x 10 tall. Total weight is 62 lbs.
