ORIGINAL ANTIQUE – c. By Inventor John McTammany. Roller Organ / Automatic Organette. Apparently Complete – Needs some restoration, such as rubber on roller, etc. A: Only what appears in the photos is included. Remarkably preserved condition. Not even the bellows are torn. 1 replacement screw (final photo). The rubber roller that feeds the paper will need a new coat of rubber. (a) It appears that the bellows are sound and undamaged. They are putting out air when you turn the crank; however, it’s not as strong as it should be. The reason seems to be: the thin strip of leather tacked onto either bellows, which serves as a valve. What’s on there is no longer supple, so you will need to replace it with another simple strip of leather. In fact, one of them was obviously replaced at some time in the distant past. So, they both need a fresh piece of leather now. (b) Since the air output is not strong, and I don’t have a McTammany music roll, I cannot fully test the reeds for you. BUT 3 (of the 14 total) do have a piece broken off the reed. That means, to get sound out of those 3 would require reed repair — something an organ repair shop would have to assist you with. The reeds pull in and out easily, so you can see for yourself. PLEASE WATCH THE VIDEO for a look at the instrument’s cosmetic condition. As with all my listings (unless explicitly stated otherwise), this comes from a NON-smoking environment. See photos for detail. (a) offering quality vintage merchandise with honest descriptions, and. (b) providing outstanding, professional customer service. Dead on arrival: an item that is broken so it does not function. And the listing did not state this. Significantly not as described: A. Flaw or discrepancy vs. What was stated in the listing. If for any reason you are dissatisfied with the product or service — even if it may not be grounds for a return — please contact me first, before leaving negative (or even neutral) feedback. Please don’t hesitate to contact me. I’ll gladly answer. Any questions you may have. What I Never Do. Or if there’s an error, I’ll correct it!
